Treat Yourself (no, really - it’s for your health!)
Maybe change your perspective. Instead of treat yourself, say, “invest in yourself.” Now how do you feel. We give and we give, but why not give to ourselves? Let’s change that today. Here are a few ways - how will!
Tip #1: Retail Therapy
This is a fine line. I’m not talking go all out and spend thousands of dollars at your local designer of choice. But, if you’ve had your eye on a pair of earrings, a new piece of kitchen equipment, and grab that latest book you’ve been meaning to read… Investing in yourself in this way could also mean taking a course, buying a gym membership, or even paying for an app like Calm or Headspace.
Tip #2: Give Yourself the Spa Treatment
Many of us aren’t able to get to the salons yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring the spa to you. Splurge on a nice face masks, like the All in One Facial from Hanacure. Slough off that dead skin on your feet with an exfoliating foot mask like Baby Foot Exfoliant Foot Peel. And give your hands a treatment too with the Avry Mani kit. End it all with a gorgeous mani pedi with any one of the vast array of colors and nail art designs offered by Color Street.
Tip #3: Get Rid of Bad Energy
Take stock of what - AND WHO - is sucking all the life and energy out of you. Once you’ve identified the source, as the Disney song goes, “Let it Go.” Nearly 100% of the time, you’ll realize you give way too much energy to people who don’t deserve it, things and jobs that don’t matter in the long run, or ideas that are no longer bringing you joy.
Tip #4: Take Yourself Out on a Date
We allllll say we’re too busy. But somehow you found time to scroll through Facebook? (I see you). Right now, go to your calendar, or planner and pencil in “me time.” (I’ll wait…). Once that’s scheduled, make sure you take yourself somewhere nice. Go out to dinner - or if you’re not ready to face eating out just yet - order in, but get dressed, set the table and light a candle. Make it special. Because you deserve it.
